Dr. Saud Al Turki has been chairman of the Advanced Trauma Life Support in Saudi Arabia since 1991 and previously executive director of the academic affairs of King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh. The first appointed Chief of the Region for the MENA—Region 17, representing the American College of Surgeons activities in education in the region. The founder & CEO of the Academy of Sciences, which was established in 2018, and today, it’s the leading medical education institute in the Kingdom. He has vast experience in education and teaching with an interest in technology; he was the first in the country to develop VR (virtual reality) educational courses. It contains some assessment tools as well as certification through recognized local and international bodies. The courses that he developed include First Responder Course, VR-BLS for the Saudi Heart Association, Police Investigation VR Program, VR-OSCE Exam for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (prototype), and recently developed a prototype for a safety course, which is Slips, Trips, and Falls.

Dr. Hassan Mashbari is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Jazan University and a Consultant in Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. He holds the position of Director of the General Surgery Residency Program for the Jazan Region. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the Clinical Simulation & Life Support Center at Jazan University and leads the Trauma Pathway for the Jazan Region, a key component of the national initiative to realize the Vision 2030 goals. He also holds the roles of Jazan Region Cluster Trauma Director and Chair of the Cluster Trauma Committee.

I graduated surgery boards in 2007 in Jordan, finished Trauma surgery fellowship and Burn Surgery Fellowship from Hurley medical center and University of Iowa hospitals and clinics respectively in 2015&2016. I served as a Consultant Trauma and Burn Surgeon at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital, Riyadh between 2016-2018, then Joined King Abdulaziz Medical city of National Guards in Riyadh between 2018-2020. I am currently workin as a trauma surgeon at King Saud medical City, Riyadh which is a level I trauma center at Riyadh First health cluster. The Trauma center receives wide array of trauma cases both adult and pediatric, blunt and penetrating and with multiple torso and skeletal injuries. We started the Surgical stabilization for rib fractures service since 2 years. We are looking forwards to advancing our career and to expand our service to serve the largest possible population in the most efficient way inline with the 2030 vision.
